A Psalm of David (Translated by David Todd)

O LORD, who will be able to work long in your office?
What kind of person would live happily in your eternal company?

The one who conducts himself in complete honestly in all his transactions and habitually does what is right while only thinking about what it true and does not allow himself to daydream about doing anything that is false or duplicitous;

The one who never says anything intentionally hurtful or knowingly untrue about a coworker and never does anything to wrong a colleague or start an argument with her just to be irritating;

The one who always frowns upon an obscene person and never laughs at his dirty jokes, but who instead smiles upon the wholesome person and the goodness she condones.

The one who is a man of his word; who says he’s going to do something and does it, no matter what, even when it’s inconvenient or unpopular or costly to himself.

The one who is generous with her money and never takes fiscal advantage of a coworker whose going through tough financial times.

The one who never desires or accepts a kickback or a payoff to do something shady or underhanded.

The one who does these things, will always have a place in Your eternal company.
